Chain of Custody Consultancy Scheme

Chain of Custody (COC), Certification is a process of ensuring that a forest product has come from a legal and responsibly managed source. In the UK, COC certification is becoming an industry standard for companies buying and selling timber, panel and paper products. The demand for Chain of Custody timber is increasing with central government and private development projects requiring it and increasing numbers of local authorities contracts also specifying it.

Working on the basis of the Group Scheme, the BWF has set up a consultancy package to help companies with 16 employees or more to achieve Chain of Custody. The consultancy package includes an experienced consultant visiting your factory to assist you in setting up the procedures required to satisfy the requirements of the COC and the audits required to achieve and maintain the certification.
