Chain of Custody Group Scheme
Chain of Custody (COC), Certification is a process of ensuring that a forest product has come from a legal and responsibly managed source. In the UK, COC certification is becoming an industry standard for companies buying and selling timber, panel and paper products. The demand for Chain of Custody timber is increasing with central government and private development projects requiring it and increasing numbers of local authorities contracts also specifying it.
The BWF has set up a Group Scheme for companies of 15 employees or fewer and a consultancy service for other companies. The BWF has put together a package that includes an experience consultant visiting your factory to assist you in setting up the procedures required to satisfy the requirements of COC and the audits needed to achieve and maintain the certification.
