About the Scheme
Established by a group of Prime Fire Door Manufacturers aiming to increase the standard of fire doors across the supply chain, the Scheme has now expanded to include not just the market leaders in fire door manufacturing, but also in converting fire doors, ironmongery, intumescent seals and glazing systems, and, more recently, merchants and installers.
The Scheme was established as a partnership, combining the membership, lobbying and promotion skills of the BWF with the technical and certification skills of Warrington Certifire Ltd. However, the members have always been the Scheme's managers, influencing strategic direction. Why choose a Scheme member?

BWF-Certifire Fire Door and Doorset Scheme Aims
The constant testing and assessment of fire doors and doorsets is necessary to ensure that products will perform to the stated fire rating. All participating members are rigorously assessed and audited, providing specifiers with the added security and confidence in the products being selected.
Our main aims are:
- To increase the standard of fire doors installed in the UK
- To educate the construction industry about the importance of third party certification of fire doors and passive fire protection systems
- To help members increase their market share, sales, and profitability
- To convince the industry that only certificated fire doors, installed by certificated companies, should be used in the UK.
To this end, we provide a range of 3rd party certificated products to ensure that all involved in the specification, installation, inspection and use of fire doors are confident that BWF-Certifire Scheme products are fit for purpose.
