This Could Be Your Year:The BWF John Hedgecock Memorial Award 2011

12 September 2011

Event: John Hedgecock Memorial Award 2011
Presentation of Award: Friday 18th November at the BWF Annual Dinner & Awards 2011, Waldorf Hotel, Aldwych, London

The John Hedgecock Memorial Award was created last year in memory of John Hedgecock, the former technical director at the BWF.  It is a fitting tribute to a man whose dedication and knowledge of woodworking and joinery manufacturing was second to none. The award recognises innovative products or projects and rewards excellence in our industry.  It is kindly sponsored by Timbmet.

Last year’s winner was Welland Timber Products Ltd for its role in the extraordinary restoration of Horace Walpole’s Villa in Strawberry Hill, Twickenham.  Other entries shortlisted last year included JELD-WEN, Precision Timber Handrails (Clive Durose), EA Higginson & Co Ltd, KwikStairs, Boyland Joinery Ltd and Specialist Joinery (South) Ltd.  See Friday 16th September edition of TTJ to see what they say about the award, or view it here.

The John Hedgecock Memorial Award returns now for its second year and we’re very much looking forward to reading about the latest innovations from the industry.

The award provides the opportunity for you to receive recognition for exceptional technical excellence, achievement or innovation in joinery manufacture.

The deadline for entries has now passed and the winner of the John Hedgecock Memorial Award 2011 will be announced at the Annual Dinner at the Waldorf Hotel on 18 November.
