A marketing summit to debate the timber industry’s priority marketing and communications campaigns post-Grenfell is being organised by the UK’s wood promotion campaign, Wood for Good.
The half-day event takes place on 14 September at the Friends House, Euston Road, London.
The agenda will include an examination of the implications of the Grenfell Tower fire for the timber industry, including a presentation by the Timber Trade Federation (TTF) on timber sales impacts. There will be further presentations by building control specialist Geoff Wilkinson, MD of Wilkinson Construction Consultants, on the regulatory industry’s current attitudes towards timber, and by Liz Male MBE, director of construction PR agency LMC.
Attendees will be provided with advice on how to identify the right opportunities, maximise the benefits and increase return on investment from trade shows and exhibitions, with expert insights from Stuart Devoil, head of marketing and brand at MEDITE SMARTPLY, and Trevor Crawford, MD of Event Marketing Machine.
Christiane Lellig, campaign director at Wood for Good, said:
“This marketing summit is a timely opportunity for the timber industry to identify the priority issues for Wood for Good’s marketing strategy in 2018 at a time of huge change in construction. It also allows the industry’s marketing and communications professionals to benefit from a supportive community and network of similar interests, all involved in promoting the benefits of wood and wood products.”
A networking lunch will provide further opportunity to discuss key matters with other attendees via an ideas exhibition. Members of the Wood for Good campaign committee will be attending including TRADA, the British Woodworking Federation (BWF), the Structural Timber Association and Swedish Wood.
Tickets are free for Wood for Good supporters, and £50 plus VAT for others. When booking, attendees can put forward three key issues they want to discuss at the summit, and suggest three topics they would like Wood for Good to include in its 2018 campaign. BWF members can benefit from a 50% discount by using the code BWF. You can book a place here.
