The Construction Products regulation (305/2011/EC – CPR) lays down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products within the European Union. As part of the Better Regulation initiative, the CPR provides more clarification of the concepts and the use of CE Marking; introduces simplified procedures, which will reduce the costs incurred by enterprises, in particular Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs). By imposing new and stricter designation criteria to bodies involved in the assessment and the verification of construction products, the CPR is also increasing the credibility and reliability of the whole system.

Note: SMEs are those companies who have a head count of less than 250 and a turnover less than € 50 million.

Alongside the BWF guidance on CE marking that you can find on our website and through our news updates, the Construction Products Association has written a guide to the implications of CE marking under the CPR for manufacturers, importers, distributors, specifiers, certification and test bodies, and regulatory/enforcement authorities.
