BWF Awards 2021

The BWF Annual Awards 2021 took place on Friday 26th November at the Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel.

This year marks the 13th anniversary of the BWF Awards and we are excited to once again shine a light on the incredible skills and talent the Woodworking and Joinery Sector has to offer.

There are six award categories this year, offering the opportunity for companies and individuals alike to showcase technical innovation, excellence in joinery projects, product design, process efficiency and health and safety.

The BWF Annual Awards 2021 winners are:

Health and Safety- Sponsored by Arnold Laver

The BWF Health & Safety Award acknowledges individual or collective effort which has made a notable difference to the health and safety practices and culture within a business

JELD-WEN for their collaboration in developing, testing and introducing an advanced Radio Frequency Tag System, to protect pedestrians from moving industrial vehicles.

 

Process Efficiency- Sponsored by PIB Insurance Brokers

Implementing lean processes maximises value for money, quality and speed of delivery. The BWF Process Efficiency Award recognises exceptional projects of this kind that have improved business performance.

James Latham for an innovative and collaborative product development project to produce their Finish Line Cladding Collection

 

Product Design in Wood– Sponsored by Teknos

The BWF Product Design in Wood Award recognises excellence in technical innovation, design and application in joinery product manufacture.

James Latham for collaborating with coatings and modified wood experts to develop a factory finished exterior cladding range with outstanding performance.

 

Woodworking Project of the year– Sponsored by  The FIT Show

The BWF Woodworking Project of the Year Award recognises innovation and the very best in design, application and ability in joinery manufacture.

TMJ Interiors for their complex, design, manufacture and install of a striking feature ceiling in London’s exclusive Mayfair

 

Rising Star– Sponsored by Dixon International Group Ltd

The BWF Rising Star Award has been designed to recognise an individual whose dedication and hard work has made a real difference either to the organisation in which they work, or to the wider woodworking and joinery community.

Bradley Brookes- Brookeswood Joinery Ltd- According to his company, Bradley brings great enthusiasm and is dedicated to contributing to the continued growth of the business.

 

Woodworking Apprentice of the year– Sponsored by CITB

The BWF Apprentice of the Year Award celebrates the achievements of woodworking apprentices. Previous winners of the Award have really stood out from the crowd, either through fantastic feats in their work or extraordinary commitment that has added value to their place of work.

Harvey Coyne– The Joinery Co (London) Ltd. According to his company, Harvey has been a model student who has excelled both at college and in the workplace. “It has been a pleasure to work with someone so keen and enthusiastic to learn”.
