The BWF is the voice of the UK Woodworking industry, and we work hard to support member businesses, and the wider industry, in every way. Our guiding principle is to provide support and guidance to woodworkers and joinery manufacturers to help them run a safe, compliant and successful business. To help us achieve this, we are pleased to announce that we have entered into a formal Primary Authority relationship with West Yorkshire Trading Standards (WYTS).

One of the key member benefits of working with WYTS will be the provision of assured advice which can be used to check that associated policies, procedures and documentation comply with legislation. Our key contact will be Michelle Bucknell, Business Development Lead Officer, who has previously met some of our members at the BWF Members’ Day in 2019 when she ran a seminar on Consumer Rights. Michelle said of the Primary Authority relationship:

“We are delighted to be in a Primary Authority Partnership with the BWF who are dedicated in helping their members run a safe, compliant and successful business. We look forward to working with BWF in supporting its members to comply with Regulation which will underpin quality and safety throughout the woodworking and joinery manufacturing industry whilst also boosting business and encouraging growth.”

The BWF Team and BWF Board are looking forward to working with WYTS throughout 2021 on behalf of membership.
