Trading Standards to turn the screw on CE Marking enforcementThe Devon, Somerset and Torbay Trading Standards Service have elected to run a project through 2018 around enforcement of the CPR. They have contacted BWF via the Construction Products Association asking for a steer on construction products that appear in the market with which there are issues with CPR compliance. These may be specific products or sectors within the scope of the CPR. We are naturally keen to support as this is the first Trading Standars group that we are aware of wanting to be proactive in this field and we have already sent over a briefing.  It would be great if we could follow this up with members advising BWF of any current issues they have with enforcement of the CPR and products appearing in the market place that you consider are breaking CPR legislation.

Trading Standards are very keem to contact member companies in the Devon and Somerset area with a view to supplying them with tailored advice they can use to when explaining why other products are not meeting the legislation.

Members are reminded that regardless of location, if you are aware of companies competing unfairly and not complying with the requirements of the Construction Products Regulation to contact the BWF and we will assist in taking up the matter with the relevant Trading Standard department.
