Having a written Factory Production Control (FPC) system is a key requirement for CE marking. With CE marking affecting manufacturers of windows and external doors from July 2013, with internal doors and fire doors likely to follow.

A Factory Production Control (FPC) System is a formalised series of procedures that together ensure the consistency of quality and performance of products made in a workshop or factory.  This is of particular importance when, under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), certain products are required to be backed up by a Declaration of Performance (DoP) made by the manufacturer.
