The woodworking sector remains a fundamental part of the UK manufacturing sector. Today, the sector represents an estimated £3.8 billion spread across 5,070 firms.
Woodworking and joinery manufacturing businesses span the full range of companies, from small family businesses, to large corporations.
To aid business planning, BWF members have membership of the Construction Products Association, this opens up the economic forecasting reports produced regularly by the CPA.

The CPA, in partnership with Barbour ABI, has produced Regional Construction Hotspots for Great Britain 2016, which seeks to analyse construction contract awards on a high level of regional granularity, firstly to identify pockets of growth, or hotspots, in regional activity and secondly, to offer a forward-looking indication of growth by region and by sector.
