Every year, the BWF surveys its manufacturing members to gather information on pay and conditions in the woodworking and joinery sector. The Pay and Conditions Survey is an important part of BWF Membership as it enables us to provide advice and information to members in uncertain times, and to present an accurate picture of the woodworking and joinery industry to government and regulatory bodies. The quality of the results is only as good as the sample, so it is essential that all manufacturing members participate in this exercise and we would be grateful if you could send us your response to reach us by THURSDAY 28th OCTOBER 2010. The Survey provides the most accurate, up-to-date information available on the state of the employment market in the woodworking and joinery sector and only the BWF members who have participated in the survey will receive the detailed results as soon as they are published later in the year. Last year’s survey indicated small wage increases of around 1-2% for most roles, but a reduction in the number of employees of approximately 8% from figures given for the previous year. As well as wage analysis (including year on year comparisons the survey results also provide information on benefits and working practices. The BWF fully appreciates the sensitivity of the information provided to us in this survey.  We assure you that all responses are treated and held in the strictest confidence. We would also like to remind members that they can also get up to date employment advice through our member helpline or through our publications, news and FAQs by logging in as a member to the BWF website. Members will be receiving a copy of the survey by e-mail or by post, complete with a covering letter and last year’s results. You can also get a copy of the survey to complete by clicking here. Surveys can be sent in by E-mail: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/bwf2010
