BWF associate member, Didac Ltd, officially opened the doors of its new Woodwise Training Academy in Bristol through an opening ceremony last Monday 27th September. Opened by Dr John Chudley, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service South West, the ceremony invited employers, other training providers, industry representatives and relevant government organisations, to tour their state-of-the art facility and welcome in a new era for Didac. The new academy has been in development since the start of the New Year, and now boasts a full range of wood machinery, adequately representing the range of machinery being used in joinery workshops across the UK. It also offers a well-quipped computer room for CAD/CAM training, bench work area and general teaching rooms. Martin James, Director of Didac Ltd, said ‘it is with great pleasure that we are now able to offer quality and bespoke training through our Academy to the BWF membership and beyond’. BWF members, through their membership of the WITForum, can assess the broad range of services that Didac offers at preferential rates, including a range of wood machining and bench skills courses running at the Woodwise Academy. Dave Campbell, WITForum Manager, said ‘The new facilities and the expert staff will allow BWF members to access a world of training unmatched anywhere in the country, all at discounted rates. This truly is a resource not to be wasted’. Didac is also flexible enough to provide both training at their Academy and in BWF members’ own workshops, and can tailor the content to ensure that it is specific to the needs of your company and your staff.
