The BWF has launched a survey for its members to help guide its work over the coming year and to help make the case for funding for a number of training projects.

The survey has been distributed to all BWF members for completion as the results are crucial to ensuring that the BWF is delivering support and services that meet the current and future needs of the industry. The survey can be accessed here, but is for BWF members only.

Dave Campbell, BWF Marketing and Training Manager, said "As a membership body, we place our members views at the heart of everything that we do. Surveys like this help us guide our work as effectively as possible so that we deliver for each individual member and for industry as a whole. I call on every member to take a few moments to express their opnions so that we can continue to deliver for you in the future".

The survey looks at the work the BWF is doing and what each meembr believes the BWF's priorities should be as well as giving members the opportunity to critique the quality of each service it provides.

It also seeks to understand training trends within the BWF membership and where skills gaps and training requirments are. The intellengence gained allows the Woodworking Industry Training Forum (WITForum) to make the case to bodies such as the CITB and government to support particular training needs. Dave continued, "It's only when members raise their voice on their company and staff's training needs that we can try and make a case for training to be supported financially. We have had good success in the past, such as securing funding for CNC training and for NVQ achievement, so letting us know what you need could mean some help in funding your training.

The survey is available for members to complete online and is open until 21st June 2013.
