The BWF’s WITForum has secured funding for a business development and mentoring programme to bring about sustained growth in BWF member companies.
The programme provides around £3,000 worth of support for one-to-one mentoring support from a business development consultant, plus training workshops focussing on common skills gaps found across the BWF membership.
The programme was put together after a skills gap research paper conducted with 40 companies from within the BWF membership showed significant skills gaps in:
A limited number of fully-funded places are available to CITB in-scope BWF members, of which most have been filled by members involved with the research. A small number fo places may be available, however, we have tied our programme in with the Growth Accelerator, a government funded intiative to help more people participate with some grant aided funding. Please contact BWF as soon as possible tfor more information.
We are very excited for this programme, in which a similar project by another timber federation delivered 15 companies:
• 14% turnover growth
• 29 new apprenticeships positions created
• 70 new site staff positions created
• 10 new office staff positions created
Details of the programme are as follows:
• To provide three face-to-face mentoring sessions from a business development expert, with industry experience, to help look specifically at your company and the ways to overcome the barriers to growth
• To provide an additional three mentoring sessions to build on the above with the same business development expert
• To run three training/workshops/best practice exchange sessions that will focus on the key skills gaps indentified thanks to your participation in the skills gap analysis last year.
• To provide you with an achievable growth plan for your business and the support to implement it
Fully-funded places are expected to be filled within the week, but more part-funded places are available. To register for the programme, please email Dave Campbell, BWF Marketing and Training Manager
