SEEKING TECHNICAL OFFICER DESIGNATE, BRITISH WOODWORKING FEDERATION (up to 3 DAYS PER WEEK CONTRACT)
The British Woodworking Federation is the trade association for the woodworking and joinery manufacturing industry in the UK. It has 700 members, representing a total turnover of approximately £0.5 billion of manufacturing in the UK in 2014.
A key part of our service is representing our members’ views on standards and regulatory matters, interpreting and helping members to understand the implications of proposed and upcoming policy, regulatory and market changes as well as offering advice and guidance on technical matters at various meetings, workshops and via our helpline.
We now wish to recruit a Technical Officer to work with the BWF team to support the delivery of technical services to members. This role will report to the Technical Director and will include advising BWF staff, members and specifiers/customers on technical matters; working closely with members of the team in generating, maintaining and updating BWF information and guidance notes; representing BWF at appropriate meetings as well as working on specific ad hoc projects.
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and knowledge of timber products and the joinery sector, be a team player with an ability to break complex information down into simple elements.
