W16 is the national show for the Joinery and Furniture industries. As one of the UK’s largest trade exhibitions, W16 (formally known as Woodmex and Asfi) provides the opportunity to see running woodwork machinery together with components and materials all under one roof at the NEC in Birmingham.

W16 is a high profile event showcasing the latest products and developments to an industry which constantly searches for differentiated product and production capability. Launched in 1973, W is now 42 years old. This year it has been bought by Montgomery, one of the world’s leading exhibition organisers, who will bring a wealth of experience from this sector to the event.

W16 will take place over four days in three halls at the NEC, Birmingham from 2-5 October 2016.  It is an opportunity for joinery and furniture manufacturers, large and small, to meet and buy from the machinery and components suppliers.

New features

New for W16, there are three new areas:

– An Innovation Zone to showcase the newest products in the market and an opportunity to speak to the suppliers to understand them in more detail.   More information to follow.

– Best Practice Zone will be taking place during the four days which will provide an opportunity to get practical advice and information for SMEs straight from the industry.

– Apprenticeship Competition Area which will be taking a closer look at the training and education given to this industry. It will also recognise and embrace apprenticeships within the industry.
