Why did you choose an apprenticeship and career in woodworking and joinery?

I went to college and chose joinery with my brother. I wanted to continue on with it and turn it into a career and since I applied to ERW Joinery I haven’t looked back.

What surprised you most about the sector?

It’s a lot harder than I thought, but you learn new things every day. I’ve learnt a lot in a short space of time and you never have the same day as you’re always working on something different.

What do you see as the next steps in your career?

I love the joinery parts of the apprenticeship and I really think that I could progress to be a team leader after my apprenticeship. I also want to give back to new apprentices and share the things I’ve learned.
