This week the British Woodworking Federation said goodbye to Matthew Mahony and we thank him for his ten years of service. Changs is always a good thing as it allows us to look again at how and why we do things, to reset and restructure for the future.
The British Woodworking Federation needs to, not just deliver for today, but to have more of an eye on the future. To this end we have agreed with Hannah Mansell that she will take up the new role of Head of Technical Research and Insight. This critical role is designed to help us develop the technical strands of our Build it Better with Wood strategy centred on Productivity, Sustainability, Health and Wellbeing and Safety. Hannah will take responsibility for identifying, scoping and the successful management of key projects that support this strategy, this will include acting leading the technical committee of the fire door scheme and concluding her work with MHCLG on the Grenfell Review.
To continue the excellent work Hannah Mansell has been doing managing the Fire Door and BWF Stair Scheme, we have created another new role, the BWF Schemes and Marketing Manager, you can see the
details here. Please do share this far and wide.
Whilst we go through the recruitment process, I am already acting as Stair Scheme Manager and will assume the same role for the Fire Door Scheme and keep an eye other marketing/comms functions, ably supported by the rest of the team and Speed Communications.
If you have any questions about the changes, please don’t hesitate to give me a call and if you are more interested in getting more involved in decision making at the BWF, we are always looking for new faces to join our Council.
