Course Purpose/Scope
The purpose of this course is to train learners to supervise and manage employees in the safe use of woodworking machinery and associated equipment. Learners will identify and prevent hazards, apply safety devices and apply machine specific requirements as applicable.
The scope of this course includes:
- Identifying and preventing machine and operational hazards
- Machine safety devices, including jigs
- Key machine operating procedures
- Specific machine requirements
- Existing guarding and current legislation and safe working practices
