Exclusive training funds secured for BWF members
Funding for Training
The Wood Industry Training (WIT) Forum submits bids for a range of funding to support BWF members looking to train their staff and raise skills levels across the wider woodworking sector. We have access to a range of training solutions for which these funds can be utilised.
We currently have exclusive access to a range of funding for organisations looking to undertake training within their business, thanks to funding we have been successful in securing through the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). The types of funding that BWF members have access to are listed below.
The Additional Fund
This fund is specifically aimed at areas where the availability of training is in short supply, the cost of the training delivery is high, or the only option to access the appropriate training is through the product manufacturer or supplier. It can be used to support up to 50% of the cost of the required training and expires in March 2020.
Just a few of the training solutions available through this fund are:
- Wood machine operations
- Woodworking portable power tools
- Safe use of woodworking machinery
- Joinery spraying

The CNC Fund
This fund is in place to support the delivery of training solutions for the operation of all types of CNC woodworking machinery. This includes training relevant to the safe use of, operation and software associated with the direct operation of the machine. For the CNC Fund we have secured an extension and the fund now expires on 23rd August 2019.
