Blairs Call In The Receivers

Initial hopes for the New Year were dampened last week with the news that Blairs Ltd called in the receivers on 6 January 2011. A statement on the company's website said that it had recently struggled due to cashflow constraints leading management to request the appointment. The Receivers are speaking to third parties who may be interested in acquiring the business.  However, in the meantime, the majority of the workforce have been made redundant.
