HSE are launching a consultation on the recommendation by Lord Young that the current raft of health and safety regulations should be consolidated into a single accessible set. As part of the HSE's Small Business Trade Association Forum, the BWF is being asked for its views on how this might be achieved and what the costs and benefits of consolidation might be. One of Forum's members has put together these documents outlining what consolidation could look like.

  • Paper proposing possible model for consolidating workplace health & safety legislation
  • Simplification Chart – consolidation of workplace health & safety legislation.

We would be interested in hearing your views on these proposals and any opinions you may have on the issue of consolidation in general, for example what you see as the costs or benefits and whether you would approach this in the same or a different way. The Consultation is due to close by March 2011.
