Stobbarts Ltd of Workington, Cumbria, have kicked off National Apprenticeship Week with a full programme of exciting events. Throughout the week they will be visiting schools across West Cumbria to promote apprenticeships within the construction industry.
They will also have a stand at Lakes College where they are targeting apprentices without placements to give them a "day in the life" experience of a construction apprentice. Stobbarts are also looking to enlist some eager apprentices form Lakes College on a not-for-profit venture to build a nursery garden at Gosforth Nursery School in South Cumbria.
Dave Campbell, Training Manager, said, "It is fantastic to see our member fully engaging in National Apprenticeship Week. Stobbarts are doing some great work in both promoting and investing in apprentices, as well as giving those struggling in get placements the opportunity to hone their skills on very worth-while projects".
If you are a member and are holding any events to mark National Apprenticeship Week, we would like to hear from you. Please contact Dave Campbell on dave.campbell@bwf.org.uk.
