The 2011 Pay and Conditions Survey has now been launched, and we need all BWF manufacturing members to respond. The survey is an important part of BWF membership as it helps us to provide members with up to date advice, and enables us to present an accurate picture of the joinery industry to government and regulatory bodies.

Only those who complete this year’s survey will be getting a copy of the results sent through to them, which will include regional pay and conditions information for bench joiners, machinists, apprentices, and a range of other job descriptions. The deadline is Friday 11th November.

BWF PAY AND CONDITIONS SURVEY 2011 – YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!The results of the survey give us a better idea of what is going on in the industry. It tells us how much operatives are getting paid, how many staff our member companies are taking on, and it enables us to provide valuable advice on occupational health and the effects of workplace injuries. It also gives us an idea of any employee benefits that members may offer.

In giving you up to date guidance from a broad section of the industry, we can help you adapt better to changes in the marketplace. It is therefore essential that members participate and, the larger the sample size, the better the quality of advice that you get will be. The survey results help us paint an accurate picture to government and regulatory bodies. This can be through consultations, Health and Safety forums, or discussions with policy makers.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the survey, the questionnaire shouldn’t take more than a few minutes of your time to complete.

To complete the survey, log on to this page as a BWF member and you will be able to access the survey form.

The BWF assure you that all responses are treated and held in the strictest confidence and respondents will receive a copy of the results analysis once completed.
