Following a bid to the ConstructionSkills Management and Supervisory Development Programme (M&SDP) Continuation Fund, the BWF's WITForum has secured just under £45,000 to funding training and certification for its members.
Member companies will be able to benefit for funding to support leadership, management or supervisory training of up to £650 per delegate to increase the skills of their staff at all levels on the management ladder. Up to 25 members can take advantage of this funding. A £600 grant towards the cost of obtaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Chain of Custody, Health and Safety Audits and Basic Factory Production Control has also been secured for up to 35 BWF members in 2011. The funding will also make ConstructionSkills an official sponsor of this year's
BWF Members' Day to be held in Loughborough on 19th May. The bid was made after the success of last year's projects that were also funded by Constructionskills' M&SDP.
Dave Campbell, the BWF's WITForum Training Manager said, "The successful bid is a huge win for for BWF and WITForum members. With a number of government cuts in suppoort of training, this project will ensure that our members will continue to invest in skills for their staff and give their businesses a competitive edge through certification and audit opportunities."
In 2010, M&SDP funding 20 members to partake in management and supervisory training, another 20 to participate in certification and audit of their businesses, and also sponsorship of BWF Members' Day 2010. Dave continued, "We have increased project funding support compared with last year by just under £14,000 on behalf of our members, showing ConstructionSkills' continued confidence in the BWF to deliver for the joinery and woodworking industry".
More information about the funding and how to access it, will be available for members within the week.
