Chancellor’s Autumn Statement Provides Little Cheer As Growth Forecasts Downgraded

As with the Budget in March, this year’s Autumn Statement had already been well trailed in the press. Despite the economic gloom, compounded by last weeks downgrade in the expected level of economic growth, the Autumn statement itself provided a number of measures that have been brought in to encourage growth in the economy, and could boost the fortunes of member companies. Of particular interest will those relating to housing, infrastructure, and the availability of finance.
