On Thursday 4th August a meeting was held of the BSI panel which is working on the amendment of PAS 24. This amendment is required due to the publication of the European burglary resistance standards BS EN 1627 – 1630. The key purpose of the meeting was to review the first draft of the new PAS 24 standard and to discuss the possible extension to the scope to include additional product types.
The current version of PAS 24 covers enhanced security testing of doorsets. The new version will include windows as well, because when the new version of PAS 24 is published BS 7950 the current enhanced security standard for windows will be withdrawn.
