BWF Members have seized the opportunity to train by filling all places on the recently advertised CNC Course. The 5-day CNC course is fully funded by ConstructionSkills for apprentices and some experienced operators that wish to expand their knowledge in CNC programming and operation.

Dave Campbell, WITForum Training Manager said, "it is great to see so many members taking up the opportunity to train in CNC, as our industry looks to new technologies to remain competitive and improve their workforce's skills".

The course was put together after pressure from the National Association of Shopfitters highlighted the absence of CNC training within the apprenticeship framework. The BWF managed to secure funding for its members to take the course from ConstructionSkills, thanks to efforts of their National Specialist Team. Spread over five days, the course gives apprentices the knowledge and practical experience to both program and operate CNC machinery. The course is being delivered on SCM machinery at their training centre in Nottingham.

Dave continued, "While the course is now fully booked, we are still compiling a waiting list for this year in case places do become available, and we will be inviting new bookings for 2012 later this year. If you are interested please get in touch".
