Employers in the wood and merchanting sectors are being urged to take advantage of the £250,000 funding secured by Didac Limited, the supplier of the BWF's training solutions.
Didac has won the funding from the Skills Funding Agency to deliver professional development qualifications in the woodworking, distribution and builders’ merchants sectors in England.
It covers apprenticeship programmes in Team Leading, Warehouse and Storage, Customer Service, Business Administration, and Management. Programmes typically last up to nine months and are all delivered in the workplace. Individuals will also be able to take standalone qualifications or units.
Martin James, Commercial Director of Didac, commented, ‘We’re delighted, as this support is exactly what the industry has been asking for. Employers need to start signing up their learners with Didac now, to make sure we use all of the funding. If the industry spends the full £250,000 by 31 July it will strengthen our case for further funding to begin on 1 August"
