Finish up your 2013/14 CPD activity ready for submission from 31st July! The BWF’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme is approaching year end on 31st July, for which registered individuals and employers need to complete 30 hours of development for their staff.

The CPD programme provides a framework for companies and individuals to structure their development and get formally recognised for it by an external industry body (the BWF). Companies can use it as a way of structuring training and development within their company and use it as a handy tool to measure development in the appraisal process.

Development can be formal training, but hours can be logged for in-house, online, private study (e.g. reading relevant trade press, books, website etc), conferences, exhibitions and more.

Each individual needs to complete 30 hours of CPD activity each year (running from 1 August – 31 July) to gain accreditation. Downloading the log sheet is free, and to gain accreditation is £10 (BWF member rate) each for each member of staff to cover the outing and administration process. Activity must take place within the CPD year to be logged, but the deadline for submission is 30th September 2014. For those doing CPD for the first time, you may log anything from February 2013 in the current CPD year, For more information on this, please contact Dave Campbell.

Individuals can work there way up accreditation grades, Bronze, Silver, Gold and the top grade Platinum, after completing consecutive years of CPD activity. The system is show signs of increased productivity, morale and willingness to develop in the companies already signed up to the programme.

For those not registered, but have been undertaking training and other development over the last 10-14 months, why not get your staff accredited under the scheme?
