The British Woodworking Federation will hold its annual Members' Day on 19th May, returning to Loughborough University for a day of technical workshops and industry analysis.

For the first time, the event is also being promoted to non-members. Titled "Preparing for the changes to come", the focus for 2011 will be making sure companies are up-to-date with recent and rapidly approaching changes in regulations, legislation, employment law, training, and technical innovation. The day also provides guests with an opportunity to network and share best practice ideas.

A range of exhibitors will showcase products, providing guests with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the innovative ideas appearing within the woodworking and joinery industry.

Richard Lambert, chief executive of the BWF says: "Given the nature of this year's Members' Day, we felt it only appropriate to open our doors for the first time to companies who may have little knowledge of what is on the legislative horizon. The lectures, workshops and seminars will really equip guests with the information they need on issues such as the next round of changes to part L and CE marking as well as business responsibilities such as the new Equality Act 2010 and the shift to pension auto-enrolment.

"Ultimately we hope to help companies make sound business decisions, allowing them to deal effectively with legislative challenges and grow successfully over the years to come."

Day ticket prices £90 + VAT per head for BWF members and £120 + VAT for non-members.
