From 6th April 2014, the standard rate of statutory sick pay (SSP) will increase from £86.70 to £87.55 per week.
The standard rate of statutory maternity, paternity and adoption pay will also increase from £136.78 to £138.18 per week.
The weekly earnings threshold for these payments increases from £109 to £111.
The limit on a week's pay for calculating redundancy and unfair dismissal basic award will rise from £450 to £464.
The statutory guarantee payment which employees may be entitled to during lay-off or short time working (for 5 days in any 3 month period) will rise from £24.20 to £25 per day.
The National Minimum Wage is also set to increase in October as the Business Secretary Vince Cable announced that he had accepted a recommendation from the Low Pay Commission that the minimum wage should increase by 3%, the first time in six years that the rise will be higher than inflation. The CPI rate of inflation is currently 1.9%.
The new rates will be implemented in October and are as follows
The national minimum wage will increase by 19p an hour from £6.31 to £6.50.
The rate for 18 to 20-year-olds will go up by 10p to £5.13 an hour, a 2% increase.
The rate for those aged 16 and 17 will rise by 7p to £3.79, also a 2% rise.
Apprentices will earn an extra 5p an hour, taking their wages to at least £2.73.
"The recommendations I have accepted today mean that low-paid workers will enjoy the biggest cash increase in their take-home pay since 2008," said Mr Cable.
