BWF launches manifesto for the woodworking sector

The run-up to the General Election will offer fantastic opportunities to raise the profile of the woodworking sector and highlight how our industry supports the economy and vitally how we help to deliver maximum results with minimum environmental impact. Key battle grounds include jobs and housing.

To this end BWF has launched a new Policy Manifesto 'Woodworking in the UK: A key part of our heritage, a vital part of our future'.  We have worked with our Council of Members to ensure that this document highlights how this and any future government can support our sector. The manifesto tackles the following themes:

–      Manufacturing – the heart of a strong economy
–      Construction – the key to growth
–      Renewable materials – the sustainable solution
–      Closing the chronic skills gap

The manifesto is supported by an additional document – 'BWF: Getting your voice heard' explains how you can support the campaigns at a local level and how you can use the manifesto as a tool to engage with your local MP.

This is a once in five year opportunity to really ensure that our sector gets the recognition it deserves from politicians and decision makers, and we value and appreciate your support in making the most of it.
