Job Vacancy: Training Manager

JOB TITLE: Training Manager

REPORTS TO: BWF Chief Executive

SALARY: TBC (dependent on experience)

LOCATION: Ideally London based, but flexible alternatives will be considered for the right applicant

An exciting position has become available for one the construction and manufacturing industry's leading and award-winning Trade Associations. The British Woodworking Federation is seeking a highly-motivated individual as Training Manager.

The BWF is the leading authority for the woodworking and joinery manufacturing industry in the UK. As one of the fastest growing trade bodies in the UK in recent years, it has over 700 members drawn from manufacturers, distributors and installers of timber windows, doors, conservatories, staircases, furniture and all forms of architectural joinery including interiors and engineered timber components.

The organisation represents the industry to government and the supply chain, and provides information, advice and guidance to its members to help them trade more profitably.

With a strong tradition of training the woodworking sector has the highest ratio of apprentices in the construction sector.  This critical role will support the organisation through changes to the apprenticeship process and help to develop the BWF’s position as the leading organisation in the education, training and skills arena for the joinery and woodworking industry. The post-holder will lead the Wood Industry Training forum and will be responsible for delivering on the BWF’s three core training objectives: increasing recruitment into the sector; maintaining and developing high quality qualifications and delivery partners, and fostering a culture of continuous learning in the industry.

With knowledge of the training environment, preferably in construction, you will be a motivated self-starter, who is a real team player. You will be confident and highly customer solution focused, with an ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and manage a broad portfolio. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn and develop through the organisation. You'll have a passion for the built environment, sustainability, and training.
