Fire at Premier Inn at Silverstone

A fire has damaged a Premier Inn near to Silverstone ahead of this week’s British Grand Prix. 2 men have been arrested. None of the 50 guests were injured. In this interesting footage from the BBC, the fire doors in one of the upper floor rooms is clearly intact and undamaged – with its closer keeping the door closed. At our recent BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door Scheme members’ meeting, one of our team, who had recently stayed at another Premier Inn, remarked how well the doors had been installed and maintained, with products clearly marked as BWF-CERTIFIRE certificated.
